As always\, the château will be beautifully decorated for Christmas and festive treats will be on the menu: mulled wine\, mince pies and gingerbread men! Enjoy carol singing and perhaps a “snowstorm” to complete this traditional Christmas celebration. \nKeep an eye out for the flyer\, to be issued in early November.

DESCRIPTION:Uzès Book Club\nTuesday 16 December\, 3:00pm\nAt a Member’s home the third Tuesday of the Month \n\n\nIn December\, we will be discussing the novel ‘Bel Canto’\, by Ann Pratchett. Highly acclaimed\, the novel is based on the Japanese embassy hostage crisis (also called the Lima Crisis) of 1996–1997 in Lima\, Peru. It follows the relationships among a group of young terrorists and their hostages\, who are mostly high-profile executives and politicians\, over several months.\nFor the first time\, the book club has decided to have a December meeting this year – a sign of the club’s popularity. Unfortunately\, we are limited by space but we are trying to open up additional spots for 2026. We are also happy to share our 2025 book list (created via a member poll) if anyone is looking for new reading ideas. \nIf you would like to join the Uzès book club please contact Christine Frati or Angela Denton-Thompson to join the waiting list.
