Stanley’s famous 1874 expedition.\nReviews describe the book as ‘harrowing’ and ‘audacious’\, ‘brilliant but sad’. It is a compulsively readable account of a journey to the Democratic Republic of Congo\, a country virtually inaccessible to the outside world.\nVividly told\, Blood River is a story of exploration and survival.
