DESCRIPTION:Friday 31 October\, 10:30am\nLa Vida Restaurant\, 1530 Chemin du Carreau de Lanes\, 30900 Nîmes\nOur book this month is “Still Life” by Sarah Winman.\nA wonderfully life-affirming book telling the story of the meeting of Ulysses\, a young British soldier\, and Evelyn\, an elderly art historian\, who meet in 1944 in the ruined wine cellar of a Tuscan villa\, as the Allied troops advance\, and bombs fall around them. \nThese two unlikely people find kindred spirits in each other\, and Evelyn’s talk of E.M.Forster and truth and beauty plants a seed in Ulysses’ mind.
