DESCRIPTION:Sunday 3 May\, 10:15am\nCapitelles of Aramon\n525 Chem. de Sainte-Suzanne\, 30390 Aramon \nA loop to take in the Capitelles\, dry-stone shelters built in the hillside above the village of Aramon in the Rhone Valley.  These dry-stone shelters were built with stones removed from cultivated land. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 19 May\, 3:00pm\nAt a Member’s home the third Tuesday of the Month \nThis month we are reading ‘Hamnet’ by Maggie O’Farrell. \nThe novel relates to the real-life death of William Shakespeare’s only and forgotten son Hamnet who was buried on 11 August 1596. It describes the circumstances of William Shakespeare’s marriage with Agnes Hathaway (portrayed as a herbalist)\, the birth of their children and subsequent death of Hamnet\, potentially from bubonic plague\, which influenced Shakespeare’s subsequent writing in the tragedy of his play Hamlet. The story includes some of the known facts of Shakespeare’s life in the Tudor Period but also includes myths and other imagined fictions surrounding Hamnet’s death. The outing to Sentiers d’Abondance on May 2 which was the April event is fully booked. \nOur next meeting will be on May 23 and we are very lucky to be hosted by Marie-Francoise Ashley again. For those of us who saw her garden two years ago it will be an opportunity to see how it has matured and pick up some useful tips. \nMarie-Françoise will present ‘A garden in the Garrigue’ and will visit rules and regulations about ‘débrousaillement’ OLD (Obligations Légales de Débroussaillement)\, as they become stricter by the year. She will talk about the local plants and will provide a few rampant rosemary plants. Bernadette is difficult\, eccentric and does not get along with the other uppity mothers at Bee’s private school.
