The estate’s origins go back to 1212\, when the Knights Templar built a commandery\, on the banks of the River Gardon. Today\, the main tower is all that remains of the original building. Remarkably\, since the 13th century\, the Domaine de la Tour has only been sold three times\, with the current owners acquiring the property in 1835. \nThe vineyard was entirely replanted in the 1980s and now carries the AOP Duché d’Uzès and IGP Cévennes classifications. In 2020\, the estate achieved Organic Agriculture Certification\, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible winemaking. DESCRIPTION:Saturday 25 October\, 3:00pm\nHome of Hamish & Damaris Kuzminski\n30500 St. Ambroix\n  \nFor October\, we are going into the foothills of the Cevennes and will be welcomed to the garden of Hamish and Damaris. \nThey bought a house/ big project just outside St Ambroix\, set on a hill\, and have made massive progress in a very short time. They have a significant vineyard\, various fruit trees\, and a garden on steep terraces. Those fit enough can do the climb\, but it’s not obligatory. \nWe will start at 3:00 pm as usual for our winter meetings. This is a no-dog event\, and sturdy shoes are required if you want to do the climb. The parking will be down the hill\, so those with mobility issues may need to drive up\, drop off\, and then park.  \nJulia Crick
