Our November book selection is ‘Fresh Water for Flowers’ by Valerie Perrin, translated from the French; this is the story of Violette Toussaint, the caretaker at a cemetery in a small town in Bourgogne. In her role she hears the confidences of random visitors and her colleagues – three gravediggers, three groundskeepers, and a priest. This is the story of a woman who believes in happiness, and is a delightful and original tale.
