The Alès book club will meet on Tuesday 17th February at 2:30 in its usual venue, L’atelier de Marie, Place Gabriel Péri, Alès
Our book will be ‘The Rock of Tanios’ by Amin Maalouf, translated from French. The novel is set in 19th century Lebanon and explores the struggle between the Ottomans, British and French for control of the country. The story follows Tanios, the son of a powerful sheik who brings chaos to his home village.
