Capitelles of Aramon

A loop to take in the Capitelles, dry-stone shelters built in the hillside above the village of Aramon in the Rhone Valley. These dry-stone shelters were built with stones removed from cultivated land. Used for storing harvests or providing shelter, they illustrate ancestral know-how based on the balance and arrangement of stones.
The Capitelles Trail has been lovingly restored in recent years, providing good stone paths and access to over 15 different capitelles.
